A Dublin man who was involved in the theft of more than €9,000 worth of Cadbury's Easter eggs for the Provisional IRA more than eight years ago was given a four-year suspended prison sentence by the Special Criminal Court today.

A Dublin man who was involved in the theft of more than €9,000 worth of Cadbury's Easter eggs for the Provisional IRA more than eight years ago was given a four-year suspended prison sentence by the Special Criminal Court today.

Kenneth Gaffney (aged 36), of Oakwood Road, Finglas pleaded guilty last June to handling stolen property - assorted confectionery worth €9,119.86 - belonging to Norse Merchant Ferries and Noel Byrne at Wooton, The Ward, Co Meath on January 22, 2002.
