Irish archbishops to meet Vatican officials

A delegation of Irish archbishops will meet Vatican officials in Rome today to discuss the forthcoming Vatican investigation into clerical sex abuse in Ireland.

According to the Irish Catholic newspaper, the archbishops will seek to limit the terms of reference of the inquiry by the Apostolic Visitation to Ireland.

It's understood the Vatican wants to broaden the investigation to examine the overall management of the Catholic Church here.
