Gardaí in Co Louth have issued an appeal for information about a 68-year-old man who has been missing from his home in Dundalk since yesterday.

Gardaí in Co Louth have issued an appeal for information about a 68-year-old man who has been missing from his home in Dundalk since yesterday.

Brendan Kavanagh from Thomas Street in the town was last seen at his home at 6.30pm yesterday evening.

It is believed he is driving a gold Renault Scenic Hatchback with a 08 D 15230 registration number.

He is described as being around 5 foot 9 inches in height, with grey hair and a brown moustache and when last seen was wearing a dark blue jumper, a navy shirt and dark jeans and he usually wears glasses.

Gardaí said that Mr Kavanagh may appear confused if approached.
