Gardaí appeal for information over 1990 killing

Gardaí and Crimebusters have launched a joint appeal for information on the murder of Tyrone bookermaker Dessie Fox, 20 years on from his killing.

The 47-year-old from Dungannon was on his way to a race meeting in the Curragh in Kildare when he was robbed and shot dead on September 30, 1990.

As part of the investigation into his murder, 1,500 interviews have been carried out, 500 statements have been made and 17 arrests made. However no one has ever been brought to justice for the crime.

The case is now being investigated by the Garda Cold Case team who say they believe those behind the kiling are still alive.
