Refunding tax credits 'would benefit thousands'
Social Justice Ireland has claimed that reforming the tax system would help 113,000 families classed as the "working poor".
Its representatives will appear before the Oireachtas Committee on Social Protection later today to argue the case for making tax credits refundable.
Spokesperson Fr Sean Healy said that refunding the credits would cost only a fraction of the Government's €3bn estimate of required savings, and would benefit thousands of families.
