Customs stop man at port with €91k

Customs officials at Rosslare Europort have seized €91,000 from a Swedish national under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The man in his forties was stopped by officials as he was about to board a ferry to France.

The seizure is the result of routine risk-profiling.

Officers were granted a three-month detention order this morning by Judge Donnacha Ó Buachalla in Wexford District Court, to carry out further investigations.
