Fine Gael gather for Waterford think-in

Fine Gael members are gathering in Waterford this morning for the main opposition party's annual think-in.

Banking and the economy are likely to dominate the agenda, with the fall-out from the Government's decision on Anglo Irish Bank also to be discussed.

"The real failure of the Government here has been to have a plan, a definite plan, in respect of both banking and job creation," said party leader Enda Kenny ahead of the meeting.

"International investors do not want to invest in a country where there is uncertainty and indecisiveness.

"Fine Gael's plans are clear - for job creation and for our banking situation in respect of Anglo Irish.

"And that's what Fine Gael would bring to the market in the morning."
