Report: EC wants to close down Anglo
The European Commission wants to wind down Anglo Irish Bank, according to the bank's chief executive Mike Anysley.
Mr Anysley said in an interview with the Sunday Business Post that such a move would be a "mistake".
The Chief Executive of the bank has said it would be "wrong to close the bank entirely".
Finance Minister Brian Lenihan will tomorrow meet with Joaquin Almunia - the EU Commissioner responsible for the approval of the future of the bank.
Labour MEP for Ireland South Alan Kelly has said the EU must bring a halt to what he describes as "Ireland's madness".
