Ballinasloe hospital protest

Over 2,000 people held hands and formed a human chain around Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe today to show their opposition to any downgrading of the hospital's services.

By forming the symbolic wall of steel protestors said they were sending a message to the Government that they would have to go through them before imposing any cuts on services.
