Gardaí question two in connection with assault in Tipperary

Two young men are being questioned by Gardaí in Co Tipperary in connection with an alleged assault in Clonmel in the early hours of the morning.

A man in his 40s sustained head and facial injuries in the incident, which happened at Mick Delahunty Square.

He is receiving treatment in South Tipperary General Hospital.

The two men in their late teens are being held at Clonmel Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The scene was preserved pending a technical examination.
