Man charged in connection with burglary spree
One man has been charged and two others are due before courts in Tralee and Wexford this evening in connection with major Garda operation into organised crime.
It follows a number of arrests on Tuesday as part of a four-month Garda investigation following 50 burglaries across the south and southeast.
A man in his 40s was this morning brought before Dungarvan District Court.
A second man, in his late 20ss, who was detained at Thurles Garda Station is due before a special sitting of Tralee District Court at 8pm this evening.
And a third man, in his late 30s, will be brought before a special sitting of Wexford District Court this evening.
Yesterday, a man in his 30s was before Clonmel District Court on charges related to the operation.
All four were among 12 arrested as part of a four-month Garda probe after gangs targeted shops, petrol stations, local stores and post offices over an 18-month period.
One man remains in custody in Mallow Garda Station and the remaining seven men have been released. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
