Three women die in separate road accidents
Three women have been killed in two separate crashes in counties Waterford and Mayo.
A 64-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a car in Dungarvan around lunchtime.
The woman was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital where she later died.
In Mayo, two women passengers were killed when the car they were travelling in crashed outside Ballina before midday.
The women - one in her 30s and a teenager - were passengers in a car which left the Quay road outside Ballina shortly before noon.
The women were pronounced dead at the scene while the male driver and a male and a female passenger were taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.
Their injuries are not thought to life-threatening.
Diversions are in place as the road remains closed for a full technical examination.
