Gardaí out in force for bank holiday weekend
Gardaí will be increasing their numbers on patrol and on checkpoints in the capital today ahead of the bank holiday weekend.
They will roll out 'Operation Lockdown' this evening in an effort to stop people drinking and driving after work.
'Operation Surround' will come into force tomorrow and will focus on satellite towns like Tallaght and Swords.
Chief Superintendent Aidan Reid says it will focus on stopping people from speeding.
