A 17-year-old youth accused of assault causing serious harm to a 16-year-old boy has been refused bail at Limerick Children's Court.

A 17-year-old youth accused of assault causing serious harm to a 16-year-old boy has been refused bail at Limerick Children's Court.

The young man remains in a critical condition in hospital after sustaining serious head injuries last Friday night.

He was allegedly kicked around the head until he lost consciousness in the forecourt of a filling station on the outskirts of Limerick.

This evening the accused was remanded to St Patrick's Institute to appear in court again on August 18.
