Crewman airlifted to safety from fishing vessel
A crewman from a British fishing vessel has been airlifted to hospital in Limerick after suffering a suspected heart attack.
The 61-year-old was first transferred to a Spanish hospital ship yesterday lunchtime.
That vessel requested an airlift of the patient which was carried out by the Shannon Coastguard helicopter this morning.
He is receiving treatment at the Mid-West Regional Hospital in Limerick.
