A drug addict who broke into Kilkenny hurling legend DJ Carey and his entrepreneur partner Sarah Newman’s home and stole credit cards has been given a two-year sentence with the final year suspended at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

A drug addict who broke into Kilkenny hurling legend DJ Carey and his entrepreneur partner Sarah Newman’s home and stole credit cards has been given a two-year sentence with the final year suspended at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

David McCormack (aged 32) of Wolfe Tone Square in Bray was found guilty by a jury after a four-day trial in May of trespass and theft at Alma Road on March 13, 2008 and theft of €600 from Ms Newman’s bank account at Ulster Bank on Main Street in Blackrock.
