The Green Party has said it has concerns that deliberate attempts are being made to delay the passing of the Civil Partnership Bill.

A series of proposed amendments to the legislation - which will give rights to non-married couples - are still being discussed in the Upper House today.

However the Seanad debate on the Bill is to be concluded by 6pm this evening.

Green Party TD and Junior Minister Ciaran Cuffe says the legislation - which has cross party support - must be enacted to improve equality.
