The main Cork-Dublin rail line has re-opened after being closed for a time this evening when a man was struck by a train and killed.

The incident involving the 6pm Heuston to Cork service happened at Mountrath.

It was the second death on the line today - another person died after being struck by a maintenance train at Portarlington this morning.

Train services to Limerick, Cork and Kerry are delayed by two hours tonight.

While a special service running from Limerick to Heuston at midnight after the Bob Dylan Concert in Thomand Park will operate as normal.
