Man arrested in connection with abduction investigation

A 19-year-old man has been arrested by Gardai investigating an alleged assault and abduction in north Co Dublin.

A 16-year-old was bundled into the boot of a silver Volkwagen Passat car shortly before 5.30am this morning at Beaverstown Road in Donabate.

It is understood he and some friends had been involved in a row with another group of men.

The car took off in the direction of Donabate Village.

The teenager was released shortly after 9am this morning adjacent to the M50 in the Clondalkin area and was taken to Beaumont Hospital.

A 19-year-old was arrested in the Clondalkin area.

He's being held at Swords garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The car used in the incident has been recovered.
