Lenihan considering sale of EBS

The Finance Minister Brian Lenihan has said the taxpayer may well be best served by a sale of the EBS.

The Building Society is now effectively in State control after another quarter of a billion euro of taxpayers' money was given over yesterday.

Up to €100m was also injected last month.

Mr Lenihan has said he is considering selling the EBS if a buyer can be found.
