An inquiry has been launched by the prison service after a homeless mentally ill woman was forcibly removed from Mounjoy in Dublin when she refused to take up early release claiming she had nowhere to go.

An inquiry has been launched by the prison service after a homeless mentally ill woman was forcibly removed from Mountjoy in Dublin when she refused to take up early release claiming she had nowhere to go.

The woman, a chronic drug addict in her 20s, was carried by staff from the facility on to the road outside the prison.
