Man dies in Offaly crash

Garda traffic officers were today examining the scene of a car crash in which a young man was killed.

The accident occurred at Ballyeighter in Banagher, Co Offaly at 11.45pm last night.

The car’s only occupant, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital in Tullamore, where he was pronounced dead.

The road was closed as forensic collision investigators conducted an examination.

Gardaí in Banagher have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
