Gilmore: Poll spells end for Government

Eamon Gilmore vowed today to turn the Government into opposition after an opinion poll made Labour the biggest political party in the state for the first time.

The Labour Party leader said the result was an historic first and made the next general election a three-way contest as soaring nationwide support for his party pushed Fine Gael into second place and Fianna Fail third.
