A Central Criminal Court jury who yesterday acquitted a Wexford man of orally raping and sexually assaulting his former partner has failed to reach a verdict on a further charge of false imprisonment.

A Central Criminal Court jury who yesterday acquitted a Wexford man of orally raping and sexually assaulting his former partner has failed to reach a verdict on a further charge of false imprisonment.

Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy discharged the jury after they disclosed that the could not reach a majority decision following more than seven hours of deliberations on day five of the trial.
