Further legislation due as 36 head shops remain open

New figures show that 36 head shops remain in operation across the country compared to 102 earlier this year.

The reduction is being attributed to new legislation last month criminalising the sale of a number of so-called legal highs.

It was revealed today that the Department of Justice intends to introduce further legislation which will criminalise the sale or supply of a number of substances which have psychoactive effects.
