LRC talks to commence on passport office dispute

Talks aimed at easing the application backlog at the passport office will take place at the Labour Relations Commission this morning.

The LRC's intervention comes as a dispute between members of the Civil and Public Services Union (CPSU) and management worsens.

Central to the stand-off is the appointment of temporary staff to deal with the build-up of applications.

The CPSU is also calling for the re-introduction of the priority arrangement which was given to people who have immediate travel needs.
