Gormley concerned about missing Docklands files

The Environment Minister John Gormley has expressed "huge" concern that key files about a €400m deal involving the Dublin Docklands Development Authority have gone missing.

It was revealed today that records of key meetings about the purchase of the glass bottle site in Ringsend in Dublin cannot be found.

The Labour Party has described the revelations as "sinister" and are demanding a full inquiry.

Mr Gormley said he wants to know what happened from the chair of the DDDA.

Mr Gormley said: "I will be speaking to Professor Niamh Brennan and asking exactly what has occurred here. I only met with her last week and nobody told me that filers had gone missing at that stage."
