Gilmore: Abuse report bishops should not be school patrons

Labour Party leader Eamon Gilmore has said he believes any bishops named and shamed in the recent reports into allegations of mishandling of abuse within the Catholic church should not remain on as patrons of schools.

Deputy Gilmore was speaking after the head of the Catholic Church in Ireland reiterated his intention to remain in his position.
