New ash cloud threat to Irish flights

There is a fresh risk of Irish and UK airspace closures from tomorrow because of continuing volcanic activity in Iceland.

The continued eruption of the volcano and an overnight shift in wind direction has raised the possibility of restrictions later this weekend and on Monday.

Nats, the UK’s air traffic services provider, will announce any airspace restrictions if they become necessary and passengers are advised to check with their airlines before travelling to the airport.
