Cork orthopaedic services to be relocated

The HSE has confirmed plans to relocate orthopaedic services from St Mary’s Hospital in Cork to the South Infirmary hospital.

The HSE has confirmed plans to relocate orthopaedic services from St Mary’s Hospital in Cork to the South Infirmary hospital.

It says the move will mean better services for patients in Cork and the wider Munster area.

The move will be accompanied by a €4m investment, but SIPTU says the move is a betrayal of healthcare services for locals.
