The Irish Aviation Authority have said the volcanic ash cloud - which is now 2,400 miles long and 1,250 miles wide - remains to the west and south of the country.

Aer Lingus was forced to cancel a number of flights to and from Spanish airports tonight - after the ash plume drifted into airspace over Spain.
