A woman in her 60s was repeatedly stabbed at a house in Meath, gardaí said today.

A woman in her 60s was repeatedly stabbed at a house in Meath, gardaí said today.

She was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, after the incident in Athboy, Co Meath, at around 2.30am.

Her condition has been described as stable.

Gardaí said they are following a definite line of enquiry and are not appealing for witnesses at this stage.
