Two die in Cavan road collision

Two men have died after the van in which they were travelling collided with a car in Cavan last night.

The incident happened on the N3 near Lisduff in Virginia at around 10.30pm last night.

The van driver, a man in his 20s and his passenger, a man in his 30's, were killed at the scene.

The driver of the car, a man in his 50's, is in a serious condition at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda this morning.

The road is now closed as Garda Collision Investigators examine the scene.
