Mayo gardaí appeal for information on fatal accident

Gardaí in Mayo are appealing for witnesses to a road accident that claimed the life of a 65-year-old woman.

She died after being hit by a truck at O'Rahilly Street in Ballina at around 8am this morning.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver was not hurt.

The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.
