Gardaí search for four in gangland murder probe

A murder investigation has been launched by gardaí following a gangland shooting in Dublin last night.

Eamon Dunne, the leader of one of Dublin's most notorious crime-gangs, was shot dead shortly after 10pm last night.

A gunnman walked into Fassaugh House Pub in Cabra and shot Mr Dunne a number of times.

The 34-year-old from Dunsoughly Drive in Finglas died at the scene.

The gunman fled the scene in a waiting car and it is understood three other men were with him.

The area remains sealed off and a murder investigation is underway.

Mr Dunne was a convicted drug-dealer and armed robber and is believed to have been responsible for the murder of at least a dozen people as leader of one of Dublin's most notorious crime gangs.

He had been warned by gardaí several times that his life was in danger.
