Woman dies after being struck by falling branch

A woman who was critically injured in a freak accident in Limerick yesterday has died in hospital.

The 57-year-old pedestrian was hit by the branch of a tree which was knocked off by a passing truck.

The accident happened at 10.30am yesterday on O'Connell Avenue in the city and the woman died from her injuries late last night.

Gardaí at Roxboro are investigating
