Man hospitalised following Cork assault

A man is being treated for serious head injures at Cork University Hospital following an assault in the city earlier this evening.

Emergency services were called to Lower Oliver Plunkett Street near the Clarion Hotel in the city at about 6.30pm, where they found a man unconscious and covered in blood
