Gardaí investigate as body found in Cork

Gardaí have launched an inquiry after a man's body was found in Cork city this morning.

His body was found at a house on Saint Rita's Avenue in Gurranabraher at around 6am.

The dead man is believed to have been 33 years old.

Gardaí have sealed off the scene, and a full forensic examination is expected to take place.

Initial reports suggest the victim may have been stabbed to death.

A post mortem examination is due to be carried out on his body later to establish how he died.

Gardaí at Gurranabraher are leading the investigation.
