Dutch man cries after admitting plane-bomb lie
A Dutch national has pleaded guilty to claiming that he had a bomb on board a flight that was forced to divert to Shannon Airport in January.
Forty-four-year-old Jorge Serapio Flores of Kerkrade in the Netherlands, pleaded guilty to knowingly making a false alarm, in that he stated he had a bomb in his possession on board flight ARKE 361 between Amsterdam and Aruba.
The flight, with 231 passengers on board, diverted to Shannon on January 13 last.
Flores broke down in tears at Ennis Circuit Court this morning and said he wanted to apologise for his actions.
