Two killed in Laois road accident

Two men have been killed in a road accident in Co Laois today.

The crash happened on the main Dublin to Limerick road near Borris on Ossory at around 7.30am this morning.

The two-car collision happened on the N7 between The Pike of Rushhall and Castletown in Co Laois.

Two men - one aged in his late 20s, the other in his early 30s - were pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman - in her 50s - was also injured in the crash - her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The section of the road has been closed and is expected to remain that way for a number of hours.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
