IMPACT's Callinan defends Croke Park negotiators
A senior IMPACT official is denying they failed their members in the Croke Park deal on pay and reform in the public sector.
The union's national executive last night rejected the terms of the agreement, hammered out by officials and government representatives last week.
IMPACT's general secretary Peter McLoone led the union negotiating team in the talks with Government last week and IMPACT had been thought the most likely union to back the deal.
The final decision will be made through a ballot of the union's 55,000 members.
IMPACT national secretary Kevin Callinan was at the Croke Park negotiations and says his team came away with the best set of proposals possible.
