Specialist Garda units to appear in Limerick

The Garda Commissioner is to deploy members of the Emergency Response Unit in Limerick amid fears of increased violence in the city.

Fachtna Murphy and Justice Minister Dermot Ahern were briefed by senior gardaí in the city this afternoon.

The decision to deploy the ERU comes exactly a year after the murder of businessman Roy Collins.
