Two questioned after teenager stabbed to death
Two people were being questioned today after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death.
The teenager was rushed to hospital after the attack in Tyrrelstown, north-west Dublin, shortly after 8pm yesterday.
Doctors at Connolly Hospital pronounced the young victim dead a short time later.
Two people were arrested in connection with the stabbing and taken to Blanchardstown garda station.
Labour councillor Patrick Nulty said his thoughts were with the teenager’s family.
“It’s a dreadful tragedy for someone so young to die in such a horrific way,” he said.
“A crime as serious as this is always shocking and it’s not something that any community expects to happen.
“Hopefully the Gardaí will conduct a thorough investigation and whoever committed the crime will be brought to justice.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Blanchardstown garda station or the Garda Confidential Line.
