10,000 expected at Tipperary 'Save Our Hospital' protest
At least 10,000 people are expected to turn out tomorrow to protest at the HSE's transfer of services from South Tipperary General Hospital to Waterford.
The hospital, which is 150 years old, serves a population base of 150,000 people, and last year dealt with more than 33,000 admissions.
The 'Save our Hospital Action Group' says the downgrading will see the end of all acute services including Accident and Emergency, general surgery, intensive critical and coronary care and maternity services.
The rally will take place at 3pm tomorrow.
