A woman in her 30s is due before Cork District Court later, charged in connection with the murder of a Corkman whose body was found in Co Kerry in November 2008.

John McManus, (aged 25), originally from Fermoy, had been living at an address on Wellington Road in Cork city when he disappeared.

Mr McManus was last seen alive on October 30, 2008, and his body was found in undergrowth on a rural road near Ballyduff in Co Kerry on November 6 of that year.

A post mortem revealed he had suffered a violent death.

The female suspect was arrested by detectives in Cork yesterday, and charged in connection with Mr McManus' murder.

She is due to appear before the District Court later this morning.
