High Court adjourns Adams extradition case for a month

The Northern Irish authorities are seeking the 54-year-old’s extradition on charges that he sexually abused one of his daughters there more than 25 years ago. Mr Adams of Bernagh Drive, Belfast denies the charges.

A European arrest warrant was endorsed at the High Court here last week and Mr Adams was arrested by arrangement at the Bridewell Garda Station in Dublin.

His barrister, Caroline Cummings, today requested an adjournment.

Mr Justice Paul Butler heard that his was a recent arrest and the State made no objection.

He remanded Mr Adams on continuing bail until April 21
