Govt accused of cover-up of child protection problems
The Government and the HSE have been accused of an endemic cover-up of the problems with child protection services by Fine Gael.
The party has published a report into the death of a teenage girl in 2002.
They said the report is a damning indictment of childcare and protection services as it shows the failure to intervene and act.
Fine Gael Children's Spokesperson Alan Shatter has said the problem is that the lessons from the mistakes of the past may not have been learned.
