Prince sued after gig no-show
Popstar Prince will be under the spotlight today at a €1.6m High Court legal action over the cancellation of a planned stadium gig in Dublin.
Promoters MCD are suing the 'Purple Rain' singer for financial loss and damage to commercial reputation after he pulled out just days before the Croke Park show in summer 2008.
Tens of thousands of fans demanded refunds after the US performer called off the near sell-out June 16 concert.
The Dublin date was heavily advertised as the last time Prince would play greatest hits like 'Diamonds and Pearls' and 'Little Red Corvette' in Ireland.
It is not yet known whether the star, full name Prince Rogers Nelson, will show up for the four-day case at Dublin’s Commercial Court.
