Man hurt in paramilitary-style attack

A man was recovering in hospital today after a paramilitary-style attack in east Belfast.

A gang of masked men forced their way into a house on Glenmore Street shortly before 1am and assaulted the 22-year-old with a hammer and baseball bats.

The victim’s 23-year-old friend also received a minor head injury during the attack but did not require hospital treatment.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
