Irish passports examined in killing investigation

Five Irish passports are now being examined as part of the investigation into the killing of a Hamas commander in Dubai last month.

The five passport numbers were used by the alleged assassination team behind the murder of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh - but none of the documents involved had been stolen or lost.

Dubai's chief of police says he has evidence incriminating the Israeli secret service Mossad in the killing.

But European Affairs Minister Dick Roche says Israeli officials have been unable to shed any light on the matter.
